    Wheel Spacers Installed (With Pics)

There is a lot of back and forth on wheel spacers for the Mirage but seeing how I've been using them for years on my race cars I choose to just do it anyways.

So based on my measurements I ordered two sets of spacers. I ordered studded spacers for my car cause I want to be able to revert back to stock easily but I advise against racing or high performance driving on studded spacers.

    - 15mm, 4x100 to 4x100, 56.1 Hub Centric, Studded Spacer (Pair)
    - 20mm, 4x100 to 4x100, 56.1 Hub Centric, Studded Spacer (Pair)

I put the 15mm on the front and the 20mm on the rear. The end result came out perfect with a factory look that the car should have been with. The wheels line up with the wells and side of the car without causing any issues or crossing over the threashold. I still have enough clearance to lower the car if I wanted with no issues.

I did test the 20mm on the front and I feel it crosses the threashhold of sticking out. I also feel anything 20mm and over will probably require mud flaps in order to prevent side spray on the car so keep that in mind. I could have gotten away with 25mm on the rear but I feel the 20mm looks better, lines up with the front better, and didn't press the limits as hard.

I took lots of pictures and videos but none of it really shows a before and after comparison so I'm just gonna post some stuff up and hopefully you can see the difference. In person it dramatically improved the look of the car.

Here are some general pictures with all four spacers installed. Sorry that the car is dirty, it's a 2017 Mirage G4 SE.

Looks good! I would have thought you would need at least 25mm spacers to make a difference, but that came out great.

Just so everyone knows what you're saying, you bought studded spacers that look like this...right?

Yes, that's the spacer I used.

In the other thread I was interested to see what the 25mm spacers looked like, but once I measured it out, I feel like 15mm/20mm was the right choice.

Could you post where you got your spacers from?

Did you have to shorten the factory studs/did they stick past the spacers?

What's the thread specs on them?

I love your G4 btw, I think they look great on white. Just get some from led drl/signal combos! Sorry, thread jack

    I used eBay cause #RaceCar. :P

The thread size is a 12mm 1.5. You can buy spacers for a Mitsubishi but the Honda ones are the exact same thing.

This really changes the guinea pig look of the wheel track.

Are you concerned about how this extra leverage will affect the wheel bearings?

I wouldn't put anymore worry into this then putting on wheels with a smaller offset then the factory wheels. Most don't think twice about that, but do when thinking about adding spacers. I changed my wheels to a smaller offset and 5.5" width, so they stick out 0.6"~16mm, so I wouldn't need spacers. I think the issue would be more concerning with the use of a thicker spacer, a 15mm and 20mm isn't adding that much offset/backspace.

I agree. The best plan is to buy wheels with the correct offset for your application but if your trying to use the stock wheels, the only option is a spacer. And with that, your not adding anything that you wouldn't add with an aftermarket wheel.

On that note, I run a 25mm spacer on my evo 9 track car with an 18x10 RPF1 wheel with 285 Hoosiers. I've never had any issues on that, so I'm not too worried about issues with the Mirage.

Honestly, It may be a little early but so far i feel like the Mirage holds the corners a little better and may have even been a little more stable on the highway against the crosswind.

I noticed the exact same thing after the switch to my new wheels, a definite improvement.
