The way you describe the engine removal sounds just about the same as how I do it at the shop. Taking a little extra time to remove the front bumper and rad support opens up so much more room and really speeds up the job. The mirage is the only car that I pull the engine out the top rather than drop it out the bottom.
Started tearing the engine apart and found out the head bolts are a T55. Well I have a T55 socket but I have to go out and buy a long version of it because the base of the socket wont fit inside the head. LOL. Nice idea though. They are also Super thin bolts. I dont think it will ever see lots of boost for the guys who were thinking about it

I'm curious about how hard you drive your Mirage? I also have a 5mt and see if I'm doing worse lol.
