    That's correct.

...a wheel with a larger bore size, do you have to get an adapter ring or something?
They are usually called hub rings or centering rings. You don't have to use them...but they make installing the wheels a lot easier. When you put the wheel on the hub, the wheel studs will be centered in the holes and it makes it easier to thread the lugnuts on. If you buy wheels from a place like the Tire Rack, they'll include them with your purchase.

Believe it or not, one of the best (and cheapest) places to get hub rings is eBay.

Here are the hub rings I use on my aftermarket wheels. These are aluminum and cost $15 on eBay...

Added a rim dimension chart to post #6 for the various makes & models listed in this thread. It's a work in progress.

Thank you very much for this . I'm thinking of getting some nice mini rims for my next tire change.

Be sure to post lots of pictures when you do. I think it'll look sharp.

    Quick question folks-

I have a lowered mirage with BC Racing coilovers, and I am currently running 14x5.5 steelies. I was l9ooking at getting a set of 14x7 RPF1s to cut unsprung weight down, but I was wondering if they would even fit without doing modifications to the fenders. Anyone with experience on this? Could I still use the full lock to lock turning radius with no problems?

    Thanks!

It would depend on 2 factors on whether it will rub.
First is the offset of the wheels. Secondly is th width of the tires. Original wheels are 38 offset.
I am currently running 25 offset wheel. A 15x8 for an aggressive look. Have to run 185s to prevent rubbing.
The fronts are fine. But the rear with lowered ride height will rub. So I have to fender roll and pull them out slightly.

The 14x7 Enkei RPF1s are a Miata wheel. Meaning the hub bore is 54mm rather than our 56.1mm. They will fit if you're willing to do a little machining.
