    It's not like the mirage will rust to pieces without protection, I just observed that they rust faster than any other new car I've looked under. My car has been treated with a few cans of fluid film so it should really be a non-issue.

    The cold weather performance is more of an issue in my head. It pains me to rev a cold car to 3k rpm's trying to get up to speed out of the work parking lot.

    Sounds like the CVT needs a block heater...

    Is that a Mirage issue only or a CVT issue found in all cars?

    All of my vehicles have been manuals. Thus, I claim ignorance on this topic.

    In extremely cold weather, my Mirage shifts easier than any other vehicle I have ever owned. I attribute that to the manual transmission fluid being lightweight.
