My experience has been that if I leave the oil in for 15,000KM it comes out BLACK (which is not really an indication of it's usefulness, check google about this), if I change it at 10k it's on the verge of blackness.
After changing at 15K you can tell the car runs better, less friction, not so much at 10K. I'm not an oil man though and I've never had an oil analysis done so I'd have no idea if damage is occurring by leaving it to 15k.
I don't really know if there is a conspiracy by big car and big oil to kill our engines quicker, it won't hurt to dump it earlier but you have to weigh up whether doing that is really going to be beneficial in the long term, you might keep the engine internals in pristine condition while the rest of the car will succumb to old age. I've thought about getting an oil analysis but then it's about the same price as a new bottle of oil and filter so I just do that instead. Maybe we could crowd fund someone here for a 15k oil analysis.
As time goes on I'm tending to trust the people who write the books, but sometimes things like CAFE make you wonder.
Put my roof rack on for the first time and went fishing at the beach. It went really well. Besides not being able to take our big fishing cart, it was nice just strapping the rods to the roof and them not tangling on everything in the bed if the truck. Still averaged 50.2mpg coming home.

I don't have access to a Canadian maintenance schedule, but someone shared this in a post years ago -
"I have a 2014 Canadian Mirage. The manual shows oil changes every 8000 km (5000 miles) or 5 months for the Regular Maintenance Schedule, and 6000 km (4000 miles) or 3 months for the Severe Maintenance Schedule."
Our two schedules recommend 3,750 mile or 7,500 mile oil change intervals.
A person should read the requirements of the Severe Maintenance Schedule & make a decision based on their driving conditions.
Had a bit of fun today and added this bad boy to my Mirage Took all of 6 minutes from removal of the cheep plastic knob to the installation of this universal lever. I think it really adds a splash of excitement to an otherwise drab interior. Thoughts?

I'm honestly baffled why European Mirages have the service interval at around 20 000km originally (12 000 miles). It's honestly an overkill, and that's talking with today's standards of precision, better metallurgy and what not. I'll be going with the 10 000km, or 6200 miles interval at first.
I'll continue researching about doing an oil change way before that aswell.
