Lubricated the 3 outside key locks... they were crusty. Hadn't been done for a while.
Now they're like buttah.

On Friday I installed the Curt trailer towing wire harness. I broke everything. It's what I'm best at!
OK, Ok, ok ... I exaggerate. But I did break a little bit of everything. And I did something I never want to do.
I did break the latch trim, bottom hooks. I followed the instructions, but they were not written accurately. The latch trim is what you might put your hands on if you open the tailgate then sort of go into a "pushup" position. It leaves open (in the center) latch access for the tailgate. Just friggin pull up only, is all that is needed. But the instructions show to pull out at the bottom. And I did, and snap ... on both sides. I thought I was just pulling a snap out of a hole, but no, I was snapping off the hook ends to guide the trim into position. It went back in and seems to be OK without those guides. But I'll buy a whole new one if it starts looking loose and shackley.
Then I busted up some clips attaching the luggage trim. Those clips are C-R-A-P. Why any OEM would use such clips on trim is beyond me. In the end, only one clip was rendered unusable. I would like to replace it.
And here's the thing I did but never want to do. I drilled a hole in the vehicle's sheet metal! Arggggg. The white wire (ground) needed to be attached. I found no useable screw / bolt / nut in the vicinity in which the white wire would reach. So I used the included self tapping screw in the area near the LR brake light. I found a small spot only 1 sheet metal thickness and tapped there. It's up under the luggage trim so it will never be seen.
Of course the friggin tow hitch did not show up on Friday like it was supposed to. And has still not shown up. But soon as it does, "Lil' Big Rig" is born.

Today I finished my exhaust "project".
Deleted the resonator and the final part of the exhaust is now 1.75" instead of 1.5"
Sounds good to me, no annoying sounds.
(and yes i know its a little off-center, still waiting for another exhaust hanger)

Today I ordered pads & rotors for Mirage #2 to get it ready for sale.
I tried, but couldn't save the original rotors with a wire wheel & sanding disc -- just too much corrosion creeping in from the outsides of the braking surface.

It's close! I wouldn't mind one with fewer kms on it, to be honest.
That said, in the few hundred km I've put on #3, I'm impressed with the engine. Best of the 3 so far. Very minimal start-up rattle, and quietest running when warm. But the transmission is definitely the worst of the bunch.
Mirage is the kind of car that old people buy and rarely drive... the true grail is out there. I figure in a few years I'll snag a 10 year-old one with 20k kms on it.
