You might have difficulty with aftermarket brake shoes. I sure did. If you're going to DIY, probably best to just get the OEM shoes from Mitsubishi. They probably fit. The 2014/15 Mirage rear brakes have unique self adjusters that frankly don't have much range to them and make the job harder to do. Also, the rear brake drums have the hub built into them - a really poor design IMO. I haven't priced a brake job from a pro since the late 80s so I have no clue what they charge for one now - got to be a pretty penny.
The rear drums are easy to get off. You untighten the nut, remove it, and the drum just slides off. Yes, it would be nice if the drum was a separate part from the hub but that would have cost more. When you put the drum back on you just torque the nut back down to the proper specs. The bearing is a sealed double row ball bearing. Probably good for the life of the car. No seals or grease is ever needed.

Most of the world mixes up the two terms, but you are correct.
This was a thread where a member made his own hubcaps for his Mirage. Technically, hubcaps cover the lug nuts in the center of the wheel, & wheel covers cover the entire wheel (rim).
I learned about the terms "dog dish" & "baby moon" hubcaps in the thread below, too!
https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...ter-caps/page3
If you have any interest in what he came up with for custom hubcaps, check out posts #24 & #28.
He also added chrome trim rings.
So I checked out the thread Mark just mentioned and got even more saddened by "more" incorrect terminology. Some were calling hub caps 'center caps' which are entirely different. Center caps cover only the axle nut - not the entire hub.
I guess I'm just going to have to get used to this sort of thing since the compound word - it's - is so often misused it has become commonplace to use its and it's interchangeably, why???? Because people have become dumber since the 1960s? I suspect it's because no one actually cares.

Fummins,
I was referring to hubcaps on cars in light of the fact that the Mirage is a car (well, sort of).
I've never owned a truck so hadn't considered hubcaps being used on them.
