Sorry, but I don't have any knowledge or experience with hood scoops.

I'm not that into modifying vehicles I have owned. Adding a rear sway bar to my Mirage is way more than I usually do to most of my other vehicles. Other than adding hitches & wiring harnesses for trailers, I haven't done much in the modification department over the years.

    Mark,
. . . . I'm glad to hear from you. I appreciate the information! I ordered two of these scoops. I should have them by the end of next week! I found Patty's discussion about turbocharging a Mirage. I wrote asking about how that was going! I have my hitch installed. I make the first trip to TX next weekend!

I don't mean water. I mean rain. I know water gets in when driving in the wet and rain. But just sitting there getting rained on, I'd rather minimize rain coming in while the engine is just sitting cold.

    &,
. . . . With the scoop openings facing the windshield there should be a minimal amount of water getting into the engine compartment whether the vehicle is moving or not! It would take take a heavy rain with a strong wind at a certain angle to allow a lot of water to get in! More water would intrude during forward motion! In my opinion!

I learned how to solder copper pipe and made a heater core bypass from 2, 1/2" copper elbows and a coupler.

And, installed the Rostra cruise control kit I ordered! It works!!! Not DIY my rear end! I'm very happy as I think it's going to have an impact on my daily happiness and comfort as I've been having sciatica issues and I think my hours of driving are a big part of the problem.

And I mounted the scan gauge so it's not just laying in the cup holder.

This is all I did. The adhesive wouldn't stick to the dash material but did stick to the radio trim that is smoother. Somebody else on the forum, cut hole in their gauge cluster trim and set it in there. It looked nice but was more work than I was willing to do today. I've also got to look up to see if you can turn off the backlight. It bothers me in the dark. In the cupholder you could spin it around so it didn't glare at you.
