So basically, the coilovers/shocks were set to stock height, but because they're stiffer they don't compress as much, so I have a 1" lift now. I kept the stock springs on as the aftermarkets were too short. The airlifts with the stiffer shocks allow me to hold a lot more weight.

Here's the airlift kit: Air Lift 1000 Air Suspension Kit 60724 https://a.co/d/0DZXsl8

I would recommend using 2 Schrader valve stems instead of a split. It keeps the air more stable.
That airlift kit is on my todo list if I decide to keep the 2017. I may even put the kit on my 2014 which is likely going to stay with me forever.

Yesterday I performed my first completely solo oil change, I also changed the cabin and air filters.

    Milestone achieved

Congrats! That puts you ahead of most car owners on being able to take care of your investment!

Learning how to change oil is exactly what got me into wrenching too. The "huh, that wasn't so complicated. I can do this" effect is strong.

I bought this cheap little angled exhaust tip for a friend but they didn't want it. Sat in my closet for months and today I thought I'd try it on the Mirage.

Ended up fitting and looking pretty good!

Oil change might be messy, or not, but the feeling that YOU did it cannot be beat! Congrats!

I went and got heated seats (front driver and passenger) installed by a local professional detailer.

On the whole it went fine. The seats themselves work great, the buttons look awesome (and put in the general area of where it would have been on a top trim mirage).

There were some minor issues though. Some of it is just the mirage's cheap plastic. The tech scuffed some stuff up in there while working. I wouldn't mind this as it was extremely minor, but there was also a weird and noticeable plastic deformation in the steering column area. That seemed more than just "meh, it was gonna happen anyway" type damage, so I went back to the shop.

Since this is a pro shop, there is full warranty coverage on all the work, so they've already ordered the replacement plastic part to swap out the bulge thing. The minor scuffs will be fixed up according to the folks there but I don't care all that much about those.

I do have nicely working heated seats, but probably a good lesson learned for those that might get third party or even dealership work done on their mirages: the plastic is very, very susceptible to scrapes, scuffs, and the like.

I don't generally like such crap. However, as teeny tiny as the exhaust tip is, that tip is actually quite nice.

Much to my dismay my 2017 doesn't have the wiring harness to support heated seats! But my 2014 ES titled has car heated seats which I dearly love on -25C days. I like the exhaust tip, it's cool. Don't think it would fit with my trailer hitch.

Yes I have become spoiled when it comes to these features. I would also kinda sorta like a push start but that would involve a ghost key and all that nonsense, and tbh I actually have just gotten used to using a key again and barely think about it. The heated seat thing though was "essential" for me as I use a parking garage at work that will get stupid cold from November-April each year.
