Thread: What did you do to your Mirage today?

  1. #1891
Yeah, I've also done a steel set (years ago). The aluminum is MUCH easier. But it still takes an unreasonable amount of time. I suspect most people wouldn't do this.

When I start to think about giving up, even with the benefit of a carbide bit and effortless 300000 RPM or whatever, I like to remind myself of my buddy's dad who built his own custom Model T in the 1930's ENTIRELY WITH HAND TOOLS. ...

    No power tools at all!

Wellll... the plan was to trade it in today. My local(ish) dealer where I bought my OG 5MT '14 ES got a new Mercury Gray 5MT on the truck Tuesday night. I messaged the internet sales manager and had a loose deal in place to buy it at sticker tonight. Got a message today from a different sales person that "that particular car sold" but they had other Mirages if I would like to come in... Yeah no thanks.

So instead I dusted 6 inches of fresh snowfall off of my '15 CVT and went to the store. Le Sigh...

Was it a 2022? I see some 2022's showing up on dealer websites...but no actual photos of a 2022 manual transmission car sitting on a dealer's lot yet.

Yep. No photos though. "In transit" stock photo.

Edit: White Bear has 15 manual 22s on their website. None with photos. $500 dealer discount below MSRP!

Pushed the fuel tank a bit further today, country hilly driving at about 80 ks an hour, trip meter set from when the whole gauge started flashing.
