The US announced that the land border with Canada will re-open to non-commercial traffic early next month. I'm making plans to drive a snowbird friend of mine down to her winter place northeast of Tampa.
That's a good guess but this boat is aluminum and had a plywood sandwich on the transom. We removed all the plywood and are sandwiching it with aluminum diamond plate and a piece of structural aluminum and then tying in to the rails. Then new motor!

I am in the middle of the state, so we hit local lakes and both coasts for rivers and bays. It's wonderful!

    I'm about 20-30min off 75.

Ha, no. Going in her Hyundai CUV somethingorother. Flying back. I've been doing that since 2015, I think.

Funniest thing I saw while at a pub on Lake Panasoffkee was airboats & jon boats going up & over a dam "crossing" at speed. Nothing like that around here! There was lock, but nobody was using it.

    Today:

I'm putting Mirage #3 back into service tomorrow, so I cleaned up the front rotors -- again. Required after sitting for the past 3 months.

"Resurfaced" with 180 grit wet sandpaper while idling in 4th gear with the corner of the car jacked up.

If I could get Loren to honor his old selling price, I would buy it and have you drive it to Kentucky and then fly you home. That would be quite the story to tell.

That would be fun... except the part where driving another 5-speed Mirage reminds me that something in my own Mirage's clutch mechanism is binding.

Speaking of which... Mirage #3 is plated again and back on the road!

I didn't actually drive it anywhere today though.

    Ooooh, the refinement!

I drove the Mirage last night for the first time in a couple of months...

It legitimately feels like the height of automotive refinement! So smooth. So comfortable. So quiet!

That's my actual perspective after 3 months driving a 31 year-old, lowered, crappy Miata.

Does the dampening improve anything at all? I presume these are boot panels?
