I replaced the front brakes and cabin filter on the white car and now it's gone to it's new home.

Sorry you didn't end up liking them.
If it's any consolation, leaving them on all the time would wreck your MPG. I have the same rails, and I just put them on/take them off whenever I need them. All of the tooling and stuff included in the little housing makes it only take about 5 minutes.
Hope you at least got a good price!
Engine air filters -

I skimp on cabin air filters, because they are small & not very substantial in a Mirage, & I don't skimp on the engine air filter that much. This is what I would buy from rockauto.com -
WIX WA10125 engine air filter = $15.66
UAC FI1338C cabin air filter = $4.21
Shipping is about $7-8 for me (Wisconsin).
Since you own two Mirages, I would double this order and shipping costs will only be $1-2 more.
I put these items in my cart.
2 Wix engine air filters & 2 UAC cabin air filters would cost me $39.74 + $2.69 tax & $8.98 shipping (Wix & UAC filters) are coming from different warehouses $5.99 + $2.99 = $8.98 total shipping charge)
I am getting 4 filters for $51.41 (approximately $12.85/filter) & Wix engine filters are decent. Cabin air filters - I don't care what brand they are as long as they fit. I just blow them off with an air compressor & reuse them sometimes, too.
Rockauto.com gets you some on shipping, but buying extra filters makes the deal more worthwhile. Just sharing this as an example.

Yeah after watching that video you posted, the Frams are junk and over priced! I got hosed on the cabin air filters too. I thought the higher price meant a better filter. Thanks Amazon! Oh well, considering on my old cars I didn't even know a car had a cabin air filter I guess its better than not changing them ever.
Carquest seems to have a decent engine air filter for $7.99, but they want $26.99 for their cabin air filter. When you compare an engine air filter side-by-side to a cabin air filter for a Mirage, you will see this pricing seems backwards?
I have a Premium Guard cabin air filter in my Mirage. I know, because I bought multiple ones at the time & still have an extra. It was the cheapest cabin air filter Rock Auto offered at the time.
Correction - I paid $6.73 for it. I paid $5.53 for a Premium Guard Subaru Forester cabin air filter at the same time, & it's much more substantial than the Mirage one.
I question if a Mirage cabin air filter is even worth that, but changing the cabin air is good to do.

I bought one of those fancy schmancy carbon air filters one time for the cabin. Or was it charcoal? Nothing wrong with it per se. And it wasn't too expensive. But one time at the car wash I forgot to put the A/C on Recirc, and left it on Fresh. The cabin air filter go wet and the charcoal caused the filter to plug.
When I cranked to leave I thought something with the A/C got damaged because it would not flow air. After thinking about it, I realized it was the filter. So I thought it would dry up over time. A couple days later it was still clogged. So I had to pull it out. I've just stuck with paper ever since.
