Mitsubishi mirage halogen swap with bixenon?

Hello,

Id like to know if anyone has tried this change before? Changing whole headlight assembly for a bixenon one. I have purchased one (left side) and Im wondering what lies ahead

There is a thread about someone attempting to use that same headlight(I assume?) with an led bulb(rather than use the proper hid) but it seems to be a bit of a flop so far unless a better bulb is found.

I'd either get a schematic and attempt to wire them relatively close to stock or pick up some aftermarket hid bulbs(and ballasts) and just use a simple piggyback harness.

I'd totally recommend 1 of these 3 things instead.

1) Buy a complete housing with hid assembly as they're $250 on ebay and then wire the HIDS
2) Put an LED halogen bulb into the stock head light
3) Bake your stock halogen headlight and retrofit a 9003 projector housing.

Until I find a bulb that works in the bi xenon housing that's 9003 type I cant recommend it to anyone as your visibility at night is dangerous, especially in a car without fog lights to compensate.

These are the ones to get because they've got the DS4 bulbs, the housing and the ballast already there. Granted these are for USDM vehicles so they've got the ugly amber reflects. The turn lights are plug and play, the reflect bulb you can simply cut your old connector off and if the assembly you have has the HID wiring in it remove and we wire it. The only thing you'll have to do is the DRL and the HID bulb itself. If what you have doesn't come with a ballast just get a 9003 hid kit as its semi plug and play with your stock harness. The bottom of the assembly already has a place to mount the ballast also.

If you look at the 3rd picture that shows the back side I believe the grey cap leads to the PCB thats the DRL. I hate DRL so I just cut and removed all mine.

BTW I made a typo and put 9004 our car uses a 9003 style. Dont make that mistake :P

It was quite easier here in Slovakia (I guess in Europe generally) since we use D5S which have integrated all the components ready to use in the bulb ... So I just bough new headlights (used) new D5S xenon bulbs (pair) and left it at my local dealer for them to plug it in

Yeah who knows why we don't have a standard plug and play. Would be nice but doesnt matter now. The new headlights look to be LED on all trims of the car.
