Fumoto Oil Drain Valve Specs

Hi, i just want to ask, is the bolt sticking out in the inside of the oil pan that may cause for the oil not to drain 100%

Does anyone tried to remove oil via the fumoto valve and when it stops dripping remove the fumoto valve to see if any oil would now flow out still?

That would be superfluous ..

I get the question, & the pictures don't really answer it. If the drain plug is removed, nothing blocks the flow out. That different than the valve not being removed.

I can't imagine that doing this will result in more than a few drips being gained. I would not worry about it and enjoy my Fumoto valve.

Exactly! The valve itself may restrict the some oil from draining out. Thus, some crud could be left on the bottom of your oil pan. I added a Fumoto oil valve during my second oil change, & I have wondered the same thing since that time. I like the convenience of the valve, but I have thought about this. I even read some threads on the topic, too. It may vary with oil pans, however.

I've thought about removing the valve and see what has been asked in thread. When I change my oil I have my front tires on about 4" blocks. I like using my mechanic creeper, & I need a little extra space to slide under the car. I feel the angle of my car may help the oil drain to the valve a little better & leave less in the engine oil pan.

I think this is a legitimate question or concern. Removing the valve with every oil change eliminates the advantage of using it, however. It may be worth doing sometimes, however? Then again, it may be only a very small amount not worth worrying about, too?

I always drive mine up on a 3 inch thick concrete block with the drain on the low side so even less would remain. I think it's not something to spend any time worrying about.

Exactly. I drive up a 8 inch ramp.



This is rudimentary drawing with my phone, but you get the idea. Plus the actual flow and suction of the oil draining would pull almost everything out at this angle, especially if the oil is warm at all.
