Picture time. They’ll probably end up all out of focus and upside down.

I guess it was just a false alarm on this latest car. No more surging. It could have just been the fact that it was windy that day(said the driver after the fact). I figured the driver couldn't be that derpy since they've been driving the same car, day after day on the same route for years now. But trying to get symptoms from someone is basically impossible sometimes, as noted in the latest car doesn't start thread.

Dude you need to post a TEDtalk on repairing JATCO CVTs and preventative measures. You'd make a killing considering CVT specialists are still relatively rare.

Yeah...I'm far from a specialist. .I may or may not have forgotten to put a couple magnets back in the oil pan. Whoopsie doodle...

Looks pricey for some seals, little screen filters and whatever that other piece is. I’d gamble a few extra hundred and pick up a used low mileage one instead.

How often does the pan filter need to be replaced?

I just did a CVT fluid change today. I purchased the main filter and O ring from Cobra. I was worried they wouldn't fit so I ordered the OEM main filter from Mitsubishi Parts as well. The two main filters look pretty much the same. However, the Cobra O ring was thicker and too big for the housing.

So from now on I will just order directly from Mitsubishi parts.
