    Question Transmission filter/pan/plug torque specs

    Hello friends,

Was thinking about doing a transmission fluid drain and fill and changing both filters. I have a few questions

    1. Has anyone tried the rock auto filters mentioned in this post: https://mirageforum.com/forum/showth...r-alternatives and verified if they are compatible?

    2. Does anyone know the torque spec of the aux filter bolt. drain plug bolt. drain pan mounting bolts?

    3. does the transmission drain plug use a crush washer? is it the same size/type as the oil pan crush washers?

    4. Is there any reason to use OEM filters over the Raybestos aftermarket ones? They don't list it as being comparable with the mirage.

If you have to ask you probably need the torque specs. They might be in the service manual. If you don't have one look up the service manual for a 2015, should be the same specs for the stuff you're asking for. http://mmc-manuals.ru/Mitsubishi_Mir...ervice_Manuals

I believe those filters you posted should work. I haven't tried them though. The filters are orange because they are.
I don't think the spark oil pan gasket will work. They have 1 less bot iirc.

I have looked through the service manual, it only covers doing a drain and fill, it makes no mention of the 2 filters or their torque specs. It honestly has very little about the transmission in general

I'll see if I can find anything. If you don't have a tiny 1/4 or 3/8" torque wrench then it's pointless. One guy who tried this managed to snap off a bunch of oil pan bolts. They're small. Don't crank on them with a 1/2 ratchet.

Drain plug torque Install the drain plug with a new gasket to the transaxle case, and tighten it to the specified torque.
    Tightening torque: (26 +/- 2 ft-lb)

    Couldn't find the other specs.

Thanks for the help Fummins, hopefully someone smart chimes in soon. Do you know if the transmission drain plug uses a crush washer? if so is it the same size as the oil pan one?
