I was wondering the same thing.

Come to think of it after my initial Mirage rentals in 2014, 4 or 5 times during the late summer and early fall they disappeared from the Enterprise catalog. One I rented had 24kms and the other was brand new, 150 kilometers or so when I got it.

I tried requesting a Mirage several times with no luck.

I don't think any Mirages have gone into fleet service since then, IDK how to determine that.
Zero, my 2014 ES Plus gone but not forgotten. We're driving the Beetle of the 21st century

Fuel prices around my area have been pretty stable at a "tolerable" level ($2.71/gal) for quite a while. If the Mirage were around back when gas was pushing $4/gal I bet we would have sold a boat full of them

They wouldn't have been able to keep them in stock at those prices.

Unfortunately / fortunately, there's no sign that US gas prices are going to reach those levels again in the foreseeable future. (Barring some kind of "black swan event" / catastrophe.)

New Mirages are piling up on dealer lots ...

The auto industry is heading into the new year with ideal inventory levels thanks to the success of year-end sales events. Overall, the number of vehicles on the ground Jan. 1 stood at 61 daysí supply, 10 days fewer than Decemberís number and two days less than a year ago. Daysí supply refers to how long it would take to move all vehicles in stock at the current sales rate. Cars remain more plentiful with 67 daysí supply compared to 59 for trucks.

Among brands, Lexus had the lowest daysí supply, just 30, down from a 45-day inventory a month earlier. Clearly, Toyotaís luxury divisionís holiday marketing plans clicked with consumers. BMW had the second tightest supply at 33 days, followed by Audi at 36 and Subaru at 37. Conversely, the VW brand had the industryís biggest stocks with a 146 daysí supply, followed by Fiat at 140 days.

Among the individual models with high inventories are the Mitsubishi Mirage, which now stands at a 221-day supply, up from 162, the Buick LaCrosse, up 10 days over the month to 169, the Acura RLX, which grew from 97 to 140 daysí supply. The vehicles with the shortest supply include the GMC Yukon at 24 days, the Honda CR-V with 28 daysí supply, the Acura MDX at 30 days, and the Chevrolet Equinox at 44 days.

    Wow. That's a lot!

Bad news for corporate profits, but good news for Mirage shoppers. Get ready for the imminent return of $1500+ incentives.

Meanwhile, due to brutal taxation, my area is once again approaching those high prices of ten years ago... but the people have been well conditioned by now to accept it so there are few complaints, unlike back in the day.

And still it pales in comparison to what petrol costs in Europe.
