The Mirage plant has been closed for at least a month. It may be operating now...I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

I saw a statistic that said overall auto sales in the UK for April were down over 97% from April of last year!

Under the latest so-called leader-follower initiative, Nissan will focus on China, North America and Japan; Renault on Europe, Russia and South America and North Africa, and Mitsubishi on Southeast Asia and Oceania, for the benefit of the entire alliance. - taken from

This part of the article is worth posting: what a story. I think the automotive industry as a whole is on shakey ground, but this has been the story of the history of the automotive industry. Not trying to sound boastful language, but it is a boom and bust industry.

    _________

U.S. authorities recently arrested two Americans accused of helping Ghosn escape, reportedly by secreting him in a box for musical instruments flown in a private jet. Japanese prosecutors issued arrest warrants for them last year and are seeking their extradition.

Before his downfall, Ghosn was a revered figure in the auto industry, especially in Japan, where he was a corporate superstar.

Material from Reuters was used in this report.

Sometimes it's fun to read threads backwards.

Please do keep in mind FUSO is owned by Daimler and hs nothing to do with Mitsubishi Motors North America. This was pointed out to me yesterday. However, it is a bit alarming nonetheless.

Also, some context... their truck sales were truly horrible:

It sold fewer than 1,500 in the market last year, almost all in the U.S., according to research firm IHS Market. It trails market leaders Hino and Isuzu, which each typically sell more than 10,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Canada annually
In some single months, 2x the number of Mirages were sold in the US compared to Mitsu-Fuso truck sales in both countries for the entire year.
