    I can’t think of other NEW basic simple non computerize car available today. The Versa is relatively close but nothing like the Mirage.
    2023 April/May/June Mirage sales figures were the worst since September/October 2013. Numbers below -

    It's nice that the numbers bounced back in July/August/September. It may be a case of "you build it & they will come"? If the cars don't exist in the dealership lots, people can't buy them.

    It's really hard to speculate what is going on here? What is having a drastic impact on sales going up & down in 2023? Is pricing the problem? Is inventory the problem?

    Given the lack of car choices these days, I would have thought Mirage sales might sky rocket! Sadly, I don't think Mitsubishi is on most people's radar. Unless you live near a Mitsubishi dealership, I doubt most people aren't going to travel that far for one.

    It took White Bear delivering my Mirage to my home for me to buy one, & I was paying less than 2/3 the window sticker at the time for a new one.

    I wish they would offer a base model Mirage with the manual powertrain some day, but I doubt that will ever happen. Thanks to my 2017 Mirage, I am quite content with what I already have. That's a nice place to be in life.

    I think Mitsubishi would be wise to make a commercial for the whole American market. Something along the lines of the ant and the grasshopper. And capturing something like Hyundai did 10 years or so ago with those mice, or chipmunk or whatever those characters were that were "cute" and driving Hyundai-Kia garbage. That tactic worked, crap flew out of dealers hands due to those commercials.

    Whatever the 2 animals are, in place of the ant and grasshopper, the ant being the smart one, it needs to be cute. Say it's an otter. The grasshopper buys some crap-turd used big 3 small SUV and it guzzles gas and sits on the side of the road smoking. But the otter buys a Mirage. And can do all the things the idiot grasshopper can do, but does so at the same cost, but in a new reliable car with a 10 year powertrain warranty.

    If done right, and in this economy, Mitsu couldn't build enough Mirages.

    We still miss our Speck. I'll be forever a little jealous of all you Mirage owner/operators. I don't even want to think about a Delica, I may never get over that and would just sink into depression.

    That's the spirit! And very specific lol
    More states are trying to make it harder to register delica's and kei trucks. https://jalopnik.com/here-is-the-org...ing-1848104429

    Interesting - I wonder if this had any impact on your previous owner deciding to sell...

    Also very ironic since I've seen lots of side-by-sides on public roads the past few years. Mostly in rural areas.

    But how would this impact the Mirage??

    Canada sales update!

    Looks like Mitsu Canada finally replaced their AWOL PR person!

    There are stats for Q1 through Q3 posted on their media site now (I hadn't checked in a while...)

    Canadian Mirage sales:

    Q1 = 461 (vs. 406 in Q1 2022)
    Q2 = 462 (vs. 829 in Q2 2022)
    Q3 = 724 (vs. 195 in Q3 2022)

    2023 year to date = 1647 (vs. 1337 in 2022). It's rare for Canadian sales numbers to buck the trend and head upward from year to year.

    Canadians are snapping up more Mirages per capita than Americans are. US 2023 sales are sitting at 9344. That would be closer to 16,000 sales if per capita numbers were similar on both sides of the border.

    ---

    Looks like GM has finally run out of Spark stock. 0 sales reported in the US in the last 2 quarters. 3 sold per quarter in Canada from April to now.
