14 mirage vs 2022

My 14 mirage needs a new motor, I’m curious to know if there are any differences between the two of them.

I’m a basic car guy and don’t know much so forgive me in advance.

I put a 2017 engine in my 2014. I wouldn’t hesitate to put a 2024 engine in. They appear physically the same.
Ask anything you want. This is typically one of the less toxic places on the interwebs.

My 2015 has an engine out of an 18 or 19. I know that doesn't answer your question but I don't think there have been many changes since the the 2017 improvements.

You'd probably want to keep the accessories from the '14. Especially the A/C stuff. Good ole R134a with the older stuff and R1234yf (isn't that the new refrigerant code) expensive stuff with the 2020 and new (U.S. models).
