I don't know why, but I didn't know the engine had a timing chain.

And you want to sell yours. Shame.

Thanks Fummins i will keep those improvements in mind. i think they have added bigger brakes since the first cars came out to.

I never realized how many little tweaks they did to the US 2017 and newer models as compared to the US 2014/2015 models. I always assumed it was mostly cosmetics. I think it's awesome that the changes performed were literally from the inside out in order to improve the car overall as if it wasn't good already. The big effort put into reducing friction, reducing emissions, increasing fuel economy, and increasing hp performance, and improving driving dynamics like braking and handling is just amazing for a car with this much value and low cost.

I recently acquired a 2015 DE with a manual trans (which I am happy and satisfied with) but I had no idea the 2017 and newer models had some cool (new to me) tricks up their sleeves. This makes me really excited about the 2021 and newer models coming in the near future. My next Mirage would likely be the fully loaded 2017 SE with a manual trans unless the 2021+ models come with more of these great incremental tweaks and improvements that aren't always obvious or apparent even to a Mirage enthusiast like myself.

Has anyone heard of any news in regards to new changes coming down the pipeline for the near future models? Any further improvements to the 3A92?

Well I think Doax solved the mysterious question of pre 04/01/14 CVT not being able to switch out with the new models. The transmission mount is different. Fummins what do you think?

The transmission mounts are the same up to 17' by the looks of it. The dogbone mount looks the same to me. If I get bored I'll pick up a low mileage engine for mine and if someone wants to donate $700 or so for science I'll pick up a 2015 cvt and bolt it in to see if it works too. I could just compare wiring schematics and try to find tcm part numbers too but that involves reading.
If mine blew up tomorrow I'd buy one from a 2014-2018 and give it a try. If it doesn't work out, gut the drivetrain, exhaust and fuel tank and make it electric. Would probably need a manual transmission of some kind too.
