    Has anyone replaced a clutch?

Has anyone replaced the Clutch on a 2015 Mirage without taking it to a mechanic? Do you need a lift or only jack stands?

Hello icedrgn86 and welcome to the forum.

We haven't heard of many clutch replacements here. Hopefully someone who has will come along soon to help answer your questions.

Sorry I'm not able to be of much help.

In the meantime, I hope you'll take some time to make a garage entry and tell us a little more about yourself.

    Garage empty: add car

    Welcome to the site!

I am quite sure you can do it without a lift. The trans is pretty darn small.

Current project: Developing a rear sway bar alternative

I would love to know more about this as well. I'm planning on replacing mine myself as well when the time comes, and I'm not really sure what I'm in for.

Hopefully it's durable enough and you won't have to for many many miles down the road!

    I spoke too soon.

The clutch set on these will be about $400 with the pressure plate, throwout bearing, and clutch disc. Also, how about an alingment tool? I guess you could make one from something. A bolt with some tape wrapped around it worked well for the Metro. Is there any type of pilot bearing on these? I couldn't find one but often that part fits another car or you can often re-use these unlike a throwout bearing which I always change.

This makes me miss the Geo Metro clutch kits with everything you need and a lifetime warranty for $100.

The parts I posted show the 2014 and 2015 models. Are these parts different on a 2017 and later?

I'm confused. Do our cheap tin cans use the same clutch kit as a 2015 Dodge Attitude?

Its super ez you guys. I pulled my trans and swapped it in my driveway start to finish 1 day.

Doax is Right the trans weighs like 60lbs.

Theres only 3 things that are noteworthy

    1. Buy 2 axle nuts don't reuse the old ones
    2. You'll have to support the engine seperate from the car because it's like a 90s honda (nothing really underneath it, hung by each side)
    3. The shift linkage. Just tug it real hard or pry it off with a little crowbar. I was stumped on this fishing around for a release with a pick... No just tug pops on and off
