If you didn't own two Mirages, you may not have even noticed this?

Obviously, something is not right. Great thing to have taken care of under warranty!

Yes absolutely. Probably would never notice it.

Mgr said they ordered that shaft and seal assembly and it should be in by Thursday. So will see how this all plays out.

Sounds like what happened to my old Accord (89). I'm curious to find out if that shaft issue was due to corrosion like it was in my car's case. Corrosion effectively increased the shaft diameter, making it too tight.

If so could be another important preventive maintenance point for Mirage owners in winter/salt use areas?

Seems crazy to think a car with 32k miles could get that much corrosion on it. Doesnt really have any as far as what you can see etc

Maybe the throwout bearing is binding on the input shaft?

Whatever it is I hope it's fixed once and for all. I'll of course post my findings when I know.

Mgr called today, parts came in today and car will be done by sat. Although I wont be picking it up til Monday.
He said the trans is getting pulled and opened. So I guess a plus to this situation is it will be getting fresh gear oil with this work.

The dealer has been great to work with so far since the mgr took over this process.

So they said it would be done today and I called this morning and one person said that they saw the work order but would have to have the advisor call me. So already I figured it's not done.

Sure enough it's not done and I doubt it was even started.
So supposedly it will be done tomorrow "sometime"

Still don't know what's wrong with it because I don't think they know yet.

    Hopefully this gets done right.

Thanks for the updates. Sounds a bit frustrating.

Yeah it is. At least we still have a loaner to use but if I'm nit picking we are also paying for gas in a vehicle that gets 20mpg less than the one they have in their shop.
