It's hard to argue about under $10,000 OTD for a brand new car (with CVT)! That low price makes these cars affordable, reliable, & economical! Plus, you have full benefit of the 5-year/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, 10-year/100,000 powertrain warranty, & 5-year/unlimited miles roadside assistance.
When I discovered these cars could be had for under $10,000 OTD, I gave up looking at used cars, too.
Congrats & enjoy your new Mirage!
After taxes, registration, admin fees AND interest, when all is said and done, my new 2020 es hatch mirage, 5 speed will totally cost me 15840.00 USD
I also added gap insurance to my cost though at 20 p/m ... what kinds of things are you guys adding to when you mention costs?

I just bought a 2020 Mirage ES 5 speed on 10/16/2020 (Friday). I pick it up on 10/24/2020.
I paid:
- $11,429.00 - Cost of vehicle
- 389.00 - Doc Fee
- 38.00 - Transit Tag
$11,856 - Out the door.
I'll pay taxes and tag back in my home state. Should be a skosh over $800 maybe.
So roughly $12,650 - $12,700 when all is said and done.
[UPDATE! Tax, Title, Tag and mail fee = $800.49. Total cost = $12,656.49]

The used 2015 I bought recently with 45,000 miles was $5700. Too much but oh well...
-Karl B. No Mirages currently...
I recently (10/22/2020) purchased a used 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage DE with a manual transmission for $5,250. It was a 1 owner Carfax certified personal vehicle from Colorado purchased originally in 2016. It was driven an average of 16,410 miles per year by the first owner and had 74,364 miles when I bought it. The first owner had it for 4 years 7 months. It has 1 open recall which I've setup an appointment for at my local dealership. The Carfax states it had 8 service records and no accidents or damage reported.
It does however have some faults. The bad; cosmetically it has dings, dents, scratches, scuffs, slight bumper damage, tiny rusty paint chips and a cracked windshield (now replaced and paid for by the dealership), off-centered steering wheel, a damaged OEM hubcap, a replacement wider steel wheel that doesn't match the other 3, and a TPMS light that won't turn off. My hypothesis is that the previous owner must've hit a curb and damaged the original steel wheel causing the cracked windshield, the alignment to be thrown off, and resulted in the TPMS light that won't turn off from the installation of the replacement wider steel wheel. I can tell it's a wider wheel because the tire is stretched out while the other 3 look factory stock.
The good; the engine doesn't leak or burn oil, it idles and revs perfectly, 40-50 MPG can easily be achieved, I degreased and cleaned the engine bay, the manual transmission shifts perfectly, the ride is comfortable, the brakes are quiet and work well with a tiny vibration in pedal feel, it has Bridgestone Potenza RE92 P165/65R14 78S tires that are still in great shape, the chassis is not rusty or rotted out, all the electronics work except the stupid factory dealer-installed Bluetooth accessory (it never pairs with my Google Pixel 3a), clutch is good, HVAC is good, interior is clean and undamaged, exhaust system is in good condition, no check engine light, and no other mechanical problems that I am aware of.
I had to finance the car so here's the breakdown directly from the contract:
Cash price: $5,595
Down payment: $1,000
Unpaid balance: $4,595
License, title, taxes: $781
Optional ERT fee: $25
Dealer service fee: $195
GAP: $395
Total other charges: $1,396
Amount financed: $5,991.00
Annual percentage rate: 4.50%
Finance charge: $710.40 (interest owed)
Amount financed: $5,991.00
Total of payments: $6,701.40
Total sale price: $7,701.40 (with $1,000 down payment)
Number of payments: 60
Monthly payment: $111.69
My credit score at the time of inquiries: 737
Lien holder: Northern Indiana Federal Credit Union
I probably should've paid a lot less but I'm terrible at negotiating contracts and inexperienced in financing cars. I hate the dealership model and one day will buy a Tesla (the $25,000 Model 2 Elon mentioned on Battery Day) so i can get back into an EV. But for now I can only afford this and realize I probably got ripped off. The question is how badly did i get ripped off?
