That is a true statement right there. Cheap on gas, and insurance. I wish the gas tank was a bit bigger in my Mirage.

I planned on replacing the transmission immediately but it won't die. So far all I've done was get a new windshield, front brakes and swapped the tires over from my other car. I haven't really done anything else to it 6 months and 6000 kms later. The transmission can be finicky at times but it's still hanging in there.

So the original owner just assumed it was going to die?

It was giving him issues for a while. It acts weird sometimes for me. I wouldn't trust it on a 10 hr road trip through the mountains but I'll probably try to take it back to it's home town on Sunday to pick up some 27" quad tires. Might have to tie a few to the roof cause I'll have the kids tagging along. A trailer hitch and one of those flimsy looking cargo baskets would be handy right about now.

Well I wish you many miles on it but I have to confess I'm very curious if a pre 04/01/14 model like my own, would take a later model CVT7. I guess we won't know until your's dies lol. Assuming you would even bother changing it out to begin with, especially if you end up putting another 100k km on it before it fails.

I paid $3500 for a 2015 Mitusibishi Mirage ES + with 85,100km today. The deal included a set of winter tires on rims! The car is not perfect:
    - cosmetic damage to front bumper
    - mostly repaired damage to rear bumper - showed up on Carfax report

However I think I am going to have a lot of fun with this little car.Name: mirage.jpg

Complete a CVT fluid and filter change as soon as possible and congratulations!

You got the classic 1st gen front fascia. The coolest IMO. Most of the highly modded performance Mirages I've seen on you tube go with this 1st gen look.
