Put another updated video on youtube.

Got the car out here, its a daily driver, getting about 350-400km to a tank with premium 98 depending how I drive it. Still not dyno tuned but street tuned it does about a 7.6 sec 0-100km using a gps app (0-60mph), which is about a 15.75 sec 1/4 mile which puts it at about the same performance of the new turbo suzuki swift or roughly 110bhp.

future plans are mostly maintenance, brakes, shoes, shockies, lower springs and new rims and wider tyres.

before any further work can really be done i need to improve the intake and exhaust which both require the purchase of a welder so further updates wont be quick.

I'll likely get it on a dyno out here though to get baseline figures before I commit any extra money to fixing the exhaust and intake.

    Thanks for the update!

There are apps you can use with your smartphone to do road dyno testing...
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

Yeah the "seat of the pants" dyno at the traffic light grand prix puts it close to those times, hp figure. Having put it against stocko Holden Commodores which do high 15 sec
low 16 sec quarters it keeps up.

Cool project, one of the better Mirage's I have seen on the Mirage Forum. Your Mirage turbo sounds just like the R5 Mirage with the turbo I saw on youtube.

I came across the videos of this car on YouTube. I'm surprised I haven't seen this thread before. Currently fighting the urge to build a turbo mirage myself.

this is exactly what I'd like to do with my '14. I'd ultimately be looking for 15-20 psi boost. I don't care much if the motor grenades, learning where it fails is learning where it needs beefing up. Instinct tells me our motors are good for a least 150hp, 225+ would not surprise me.

You've done a brilliant job mate. I'll be asking questions once I get started.

Mirage owners look at the world differently than everyone else, but in a better way
We're driving the Beetle of the 21st century, the greatest small car now available!
