Hopefully people will switch to more mirages, but then it'll just make us all want to make ours more distinguishable, hey maybe if there's enough people who buy mirages, and show interest in stage one-ish mods we can get more help from companies easier

U.S. Energy Information Administration: Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update

Regular Gasoline Prices (dollars per gallon)
    US 04/08/19 04/15/19 04/22/19
    US 2.745 2.828 2.841
    East Coast 2.653 2.718 2.733
    West Coast 3.418 3.579 3.629

I wonder if Ford & GM will keep their plans to drop sedans.

You should have seen the gas prices in Vancouver, BC. According to gasbuddy.com, the price of regular gasoline is $1.60/liter CDN. Multiply it by 3.8 liters (1 U.S. gallon) and the total becomes $6.08/gallon CDN.

If traffic to this forum is any indication about concern over fuel prices... there is no concern yet. It's steady.

EcoModder is probably a better gauge... and it's slightly down vs. this time last year.

My theory (which is mine): If the U.S. national average price passes the $3/gal mark, that will generate prime-time coverage in the mass media, because it hasn't happened since 2014. That might trigger a reaction in regular people.

But it's not there yet (~2.88 today). It peaked at ~2.98 last spring.

So $4.50/gallon usd in Vancouver, slightly more than California. Here it's around $1.20Liter(cad) so $3.39/gallon (usd), pretty comparable to Oregon and Washington's average but Montana's average, according to gas buddy, is $2.78/ gallon usd $0.98/liter cad so just over 20cents a liter less. Prices go up and down that much overnight here all the time.

I won't change what I drive immediately. If people can afford a $70k truck they should be able to afford an extra $20 per fill up(in theory) if prices jump 20 cents a liter. That's what credit cards are for

Also worth noting: the last time U.S. gas prices passed $3/gal (5 years ago), regular cars (including trucks/SUV's) got notably worse mileage than replacement models today. 10 years ago, it was even worse.

CAFE has steadily dulled the gas-price-spike-panic response in regular folks who opt to drive the "thirsty" vehicles. They're not nearly as thirsty as they used to be.

It's funny what a year or two later can bring to a discussion!

Very true. Gas prices here have dropped to about $2.55/gal over the past month or so, and compared to the rest of the country we in Washington State are STILL getting hosed!

I read it had dropped under $1.00/gal somewhere!
