    Wouldn’t it be awesome if Mitsu Leadership took us Mirage enthusiasts more seriously? We should all email and bug Mitsu Leadership to offer a performance model, or at least performance parts. That would possibly spur the aftermarket industry too.

    They need to keep the costs low though. Evo was too expensive.

    Don't know if you're aware, but Nissan did exactly that with the Micra - there's a "Micra Cup" series that runs races in 2 provinces, and it's a hoot.

    Micra is the direct competitor to the Mirage in many markets. It's been significantly outselling the Mirage in Canada since it arrived here.

    Modifications are done to the base trim car (1.6L, 5-speed), and are limited to safety equipment, plus lowering, exhaust, intake, wheels/tires, etc. Drivetrain internals are stock.

    It's been fantastic marketing for the car as well.
