    I thought about swapping in a 51R battery, but I dont see how a smaller battery will help with power, 28lbs is a good chunk, but I dont see it as a lot overall.

    That .7lbs off the outter edge will magnify with RPMs

    Power to weight ratio.

    Stock = 2050 pounds and 74 hp = 27.7 pounds/hp

    5% more power = 2050 pounds and 77.7 hp = 26.4 pounds/hp

    5% less weight = 1947.5 pounds and 74 hp = 26.3 pounds/hp

    5% more power AND 5% less weight = 1947.5 pounds and 77.7 hp = 25.1 pounds/hp

    Power to weight directly determines how fast a car can accelerate. The lighter the car, the more effect increases in power have!

    None of this matters for street use. But, in competition, tenths and hundredths of a second matter. It all adds up.

    Yeah, I understand killing off weight, but most vehicles that went with small batteries, changed to big batteries after a few years due to issues. But maybe the mirage is small enough to get a small battery to work? What are you thinking about using??

    Lightened flywheel is in. No problems. No "light flywheel" drivability issues.

    The car feels a LOT peppier, but I made a lot of changes at the same time. The +4 hp 2017 engine, the flywheel with .8 pounds less mass around the perimeter, and 28 pounds less battery.

    But, even with a 200 pound passenger, the car felt peppier!

    Now that I have the dimensions of the Mirage flywheel, when I run out of other things to do, maybe I'll start looking for something of similar dimensions. I think getting that flywheel weight down to 7-8 pounds would be an awesome thing. (I've had 7 pound flywheels on Miatas... tasty)
