Think the closest approximation in the list of supported smilies on this forum is (sneakiness), I think the colloquial term is "shifty eyes".

    294,480 miles

In addition to my trouble shifting into first gear, the car is now having trouble shifting into second gear as well. I was hoping to hold out until 300k miles to worry about this issue, but I suppose I better make an attempt to fix it before things get even worse.

Given the COVID19 situation, I will not be visiting any junk yards to save money on this experiment. I am going to cough up the money and buy a new cable.

Just to confirm with anyone who has been here before, is this the part I am likely to need?

    Part #2460A112
    Description: Control Cable - Mitsubishi

Rather than visit a junk yard, why not have them ship the part to you?

Steve, once you hit 350k miles plus get a new CVT version and see if you can hit 200k miles? Think of the raw data we could use on here with your input!

Why on earth would anyone want to own a car with an automatic transmission?

To test your impressive automative nurturing ability. Just do it man c'mon. If anybody can rawdog a CVT and still get 200k miles out of it, its you. We know Fummins can do it with his style, but Im curious if your style can run the gauntlet too. My $ is on you bro. I look foward to your new posts in a year or so with your new CVT Mirage! Pour some of that Tony Chachere's in that gas tank, to hell with the Techron, I bet you get 300k miles out of a CVT!

I'm hoping the new cables fix Steve's shifting issues, because I'm still curious how long his original clutch is going to last.

From Steve's responses, I wouldn't hold your breath Dirk on him buying a CVT any time soon. Steve may like manuals more than me, & that's saying something!
