Hey Steve... Have you seen this thread? If you have Redi-Sensors in your wheels now, that device will work in your car.

Yep. Honestly, I was thinking about putting one of those in the Delorean before you even created that thread. I suppose great minds think alike. lol

I'd like to get that stupid TPMS light turned off in the Mitsubishi though, the correct way. That fancy $30 cable is on order. I'll hit up Discount Tire in a few weeks once I've received the cable.

The good thing is, this is a one time deal. I'll sell the Mitsubishi cable on eBay once I no longer need it, and I'll get me one of those cloning tools you mentioned for future TPMS sensor replacements.

I would ask Discount Tire if they would be interested in buying the cable. If it works, they should have one in the first place. Just a thought?

Interesting idea. Or I could just give it to them as “payment” since they are offering to do the work for free.

To be honest, I thought that, too. I wouldn't overcharge them that's for sure!!!! If they offered you $10 for it, I would feel like it is a win-win for both parties! If it was my local small town mechanic, I would give it to him. He's done things without charging in the past.

You'll probably clone or own something else in the future. The odds of using that cable again are pretty slim.

259,739 miles. Rear passenger side tail light went out. I replaced it with a genuine Sylvania 7528LL from Walmart. This is the first time I have ever replaced one of the rear lights. Not bad for my current mileage.

No more el cheapo eBay lights for me!

Hey Steve, I own a 2014 CVT Mirage with 83K on it ... going strong!

But I also own a 2000 VW Beetle with 266K miles on it. If I was to compare your maintenance with the 2000 beetle with comparable mileage, not even close.... Every thing that could be wrong with the beetle happened except Transmission is still strong.
    1. all wheel bearings multiple times
    2. Timing belt kit with water pump.
    3. Electrical dash fried and repaired.
    4. Cracked Head 198K
    5. Alternator
    6. Multiple front end stuff
    7. much much more lights(aweful to change) Electric door windows

Car was given too us with 168K on it back in 2013 as Dad bought it for mom in 1999 and passed from ALS in early 2014 so gave car to us so was easier to fix stuff. The Bug might be close to done now as small leak of Anti freeze behind the timing belt cover .... possible waterpump(ceramic seal) so might actually reseal ... we shall see or another cracked head .... if it continues to leak ... might do a last ditch hope... can of "JUSTICE BROTHERS" we shall see ... thanks for the thread

    Bob
