Well, I found a transmission near me for $300. Here's hoping I can get this Shadow and LeBaron out of here in the next few days lol.

I hope this works out for both Steve & you. If you sell Steve's high mileage Mirage, you need to do it under one condition! The new owner much take over Steve's "Cheap Plastic car thread".

It would be nice to follow the future of Steve's car. It would also be nice to know what is really wrong with his transmission, & the condition of his clutch @ 300,000+ miles.

I hope you find some Shadow/LeBaron customers soon! Keep us posted!

Yeah, as most people know, trying to sell stuff is a total pain in the ass. Lots of people ghosted on the $600 LeBaron. One person showed up and expected it to be like a new car for the price. It's $600 for a reason instead of the several thousand nice LeBaron's go for. No serious interest in the 1991 Shadow yet either. I figured someone would like that though, it's a 62,000 mile 5 speed convertible... but then again you have to be able to drive a stick to appreciate that thing. I'd post it up here but... this is a Mirage board not a 80's/90's Chrysler board.

Okay, the Shadow convertible has a lounge thread. Had another person come look at the cheap LeBaron today, look at it for like 5 seconds, and say they don't want it because it leaks oil (which it says in the damn ad even). I mean, it's a $600 car with heat that runs and drives. Ugh.

    302,915 miles

Paid the mechanic to replace my transmission, clutch, and do front/rear brakes.

I provided him with a low mileage transmission from LKQ, Redline gear oil, brake calipers and turned rotors for the front, brake shoes for the rear (he turned the drums himself), and OEM clutch parts. I decided not to risk the $100 eBay kit being low quality since I splurged and payed the mechanic to do the work.

Here’s what a 300k mile clutch disc looks like. Name: EBD266AC-F9A5-4F09-A118-9BEAF69E6B43.jpg

Sweet. Thanks for the update. Hope all is well with you - haven't heard from you in a while. Good to see you around and your Mirage is back in operating order.
