The last super-cheap 165/65-14 tires I got from Pep Boys were horrible garbage. "Vee Rubber CityStar V2". Three out of four of them weren't even ROUND. I had to throw them all away.

I got 60,000 miles out of my enasave and they were just above wear bars. I replaced with hankook optimo h724 in 175/65 r14 and have been pleased. Did not notice difference on highway, other than what seems to be 2 mpg lost (after corrected for mileage)

The 724 were one of my choices, but did not want to spend that much. I for one am done with Michelin and some other huge brands. Its not worth the price for what you get!

Bought mine fora about 50 each installed at Walmart. Buy online because the price is cheaper then in store.

Not really... I have them match it. I get most of my tires at America's tire but had some issues with them with PSI, tire recommendation and totally clueless on what they sell!

I use size 175/65-14 for the tires on my cheap plastic car.

My experience has been that the OEM Dunlop tires and Goodyear Viva 3 tires suck. The treads on those tires simply do not last.

My last set of tires was the Falken Sincera SN211. They had a 80k mile warranty. At 90k miles, the tires still had tread on them but to be safe I had them replaced. Unfortunately the SN211 was discontinued when I last bought tires so I had to buy a different Falken tire.

I am currently running a set of Falken SN250 with 80k mile warranty. I currently have 28k miles on them, so far so good. I expect them to last at least 80k miles, just like my last set of Falkens.

What size are the Falkens? 175/65/14?

I would discourage anyone, regardless how frugal to select tires based on rolling resistance. The tires are the most important safety feature on your car. If they are not expending energy to deform and grip the road, or if they have insufficient tread grooves to evacuate water in heavy rain, replacing your car after an accident will cost more than you saved on a 1-2% fuel savings. Just buy the best performing tires you can afford for the worst conditions you'll be using them in, don't worry about the fuel, the mirage would get acceptable fuel economy on bias ply offroad tires if you went to that extreme. Do it right and enjoy your safety.
