Both Egg and Loren bring up some very valid points. I suppose i could ask NST about the harmonic balance aspect and whether or not i should be concerned.

To you point, Egg. I recently added a Braille Lightweight AGM Battery/B2015

Heres the latest response from the NST rep:
"Thank you for the detailed pics, we would definitely be able to offer you a nice set of lightweight pulleys based on what we see there. The next step would be for you to send in your OEM pulleys when you're ready to move forward".

"With regards to balance, harmonics, vibrations, etc. we highly recommend reading through our FAQ page. We've designed and developed hundreds of pulleys since we started in 2005 and we've spent a great deal of time to put a good amount of information regarding these topics into our FAQ..."

    https://nonstoptuningusa.com/faq/

"And in terms of pulley sizing, in the cases where we do offer underdriving we make sure to keep the percentage of underdriving at a conservative level so that you never have to worry about any of your accessories, their operating speeds, and their lifespan. In many cases we even offer an overdrive alternator pulley to pair with our underdrive crank pulleys to ensure that your alternator maintains OEM speeds. In many cases (with more modern engines) we offer a full set of lightweight pulleys that are the exact same size as OEM but are apx 70% to 75% lighter, this provides the majority of the performance gains our customers are looking for and helps ease any worries or concerns regarding under/over driving".

"You won't have any issues when using a quality set of NST pulleys".

"In addition to everything listed in our FAQ, you should also take note that..."

"NST PULLEYS - BETTER THAN THE COMPETITION SINCE 2005
70-75% weight reduction vs OEM while just as strong/stronger
(OEM is cast iron, NST is CNC machined and will never corrode)
Anodizing on NST pulleys makes the aluminum stronger
(cheaper bare aluminum {silver/billet} pulleys are softer than NST)
NST crank pulleys have oil sleeves on the back when necessary
(most other brands do not offer this very important feature)
NST crank pulleys have proper timing marks on the edge of pulley
(we're one of very few companies to offer this important feature)".

"You can check our DYNO pages for more info..."

Heres the response after pressing further on underdrive and price:
"We would recommend starting off with a set of OEM size lightweight pulleys, such a set would be approx 75% lighter than OEM and would likely provide you with all the benefits you're seeking... improved throttle response, better HP & TQ delivery, better MPG, and better aesthetics".

"If you're looking for an underdrive set we would recommend approx 10% underdrive".

"We can do whichever you prefer, but would need to take a look at the OEM pulleys here before we can say if we think an underdrive set would be more ideal".

"We may be able to offer you a small discount (we need to see the OEM pulleys in person to know for sure) if you can send us a set of OEM pulleys soon".

Were a go! Going to grab the pulleys and send them on their way.

Is your NST rep monitoring this thread? They could provide valuable insight into this process.

Send query to NST regarding involvement in our discussion, heres the response:
"Thank you for the link, we'll keep an eye out and will monitor the members posts going forward. Hopefully there will be more real demand and support from other forum members, as this would lead to better options for everyone."

Not expecting any forum posts from them any time soon. However, i will continue to update progress as it comes and forward any relevant information the design team provides. Pulleys are shipped out to arrive next Wednesday. I dont expect a "set in hand" until the mid-August/mid-September.

    Updates forthcoming...
