After reading & watching Consumer Reports talk about the Mirage, I have to admit am surprised by their "Worst Vehicles to Avoid" list.
Because it doesn't include the Mirage.
Source: http://www.thedetroitbureau.com/2014...orst-vehicles/Here are the vehicles to avoid, according to Consumer Reports:
Subcompact cars
- Smart ForTwo
- Scion iQ
- Chevrolet Spark

I was puzzled to see the new Outlander on there. I drove a new 14 and found it to be very nice. Only drawback to the lancer is the mid 2000's interior! Other then that its one of the sportiest looking and best handling cars in its class!
Got our Annual Car edition and take it with a grain of salt .
CR gets around to posting a YouTube video version of their review.
It's no less nasty than the print version:

I think a pre-requisite for being a car reviewer is you should have to be capable of pronouncing the name of the automaker.

One thing you have to remember about the people giving bad reviews of the Mirage is this. Look at the cars they typically test drive. Audi's, Porsche's, BMW's, Mercede's, Jaquar's, and other mid to high end luxury cars. Then look at all the sports cars they test drive. Unfortunately, most of the writers directly compare the Mirage to these cars, which is wrong. It's like knocking the BMW M3 because it doesn't even come close to getting the fuel economy of the Mirage. I have seen a nice long term test video from a place in Canada that gave the Mirage rave reviews because the guy that reviewed it looked at the car from an economy car perspective instead of a sports sedan perspective.
