Interesting. It appears there is no manual transmission, nor any all-wheel drive available.

I'm curious to know how this platform qualifies as a 'crossover'. As MetroMPG suggests, it's in appearance only with no added functionality.

Yet it's already outselling the Micra in Canada (which outsells the Mirage). It even has the same 4-cyl engine (tweaked slightly) as the Micra/Versa/Note.

Starting price of a base Micra: $9998 CAD + delivery.

Starting price of a base Kicks: $17998 CAD + delivery.

Probably has the same CVT as the Mirage/Versa/Note too.

I think people mainly want the high seating position and the look. The vast majority don't need AWD or the ground clearance.

Call it a hatchback and it tanks.

Call it a crossover and watch the cash roll in.

The Mirage with 6.3" of ground clearance already has more clearance than a standard RAV4 6.1". So a little fender cladding and call it a subcompact CUV. They'd sell 200,000 of them a year here.

Ha! I love it. I've even found some 165/65/14 off-road tires from Nankang. CUV in the making. (Don't tempt me!)
