Good thing your CJ-7 didn't suffer any. It looks like it would sit above the water level, and it's not lifted much. Nice top. The Jeep really takes a lot more fuel to get around. If it runs as good as it looks, you'll be fine. Remember, it's not miles per gallon but fun per gallon.
So what was damaged on your Mirage? Did the water level get higher than your picture? I imagine that you got some water in the interior, but what else got wet?

Yikes!
Hopefully insurance is taking good care of you. Nice to see another Mirage on order.

If I where in your position (and if you are a cash buyer) I would look strongly into buying a 2015 from a private owner. I see them announced for $4000 or less and in my opinion that is extremely under-valued. You will save alot of money and get a very reliable car for your dollar.
Right now the used 2015's are "market dogs" because nobody wants them. That presents a perfect buying opportunity RIGHT NOW. They are good cars and you are getting a handsome discount based purely upon society's misguided perceptions......a discount on a good, reliable car.

And in addition to that I would do some "careful analysis" about if you want to buy another stick-shift. The CVT version has proved itself reliable (now we know) and on the used market you are not going to pay "too much more" for a CVT version. So strongly consider it because there are alot more used CVT's to choose from and sometimes you can find a sweet deal where you can get a CVT for even cheaper.
So I say strongly consider this fact as well. Im having fun with my 5-MT and getting that good old fashioned "stick-shift nostalgia" and i dont regret that inital decision to buy one but If I where in your shoes I dont think I would buy another stick. I do too much highway driving and the congested traffic nightmares in the Big City are too much of a pain in the ass.

If you liked the 2014 you will LOVE the 2018! My 2015 Mirage (purchased 2016) with 33,000 miles was totalled and I immediately purchased a new 2018 SE. About $4,000 off the sticker. I have 9,500 miles on the new one. The extra hp of the engine and the CVT provide even greater mpg. I calculate mpg on a tank-by-tank basis. I only use the dash readout for reference on the go.
Almost all of my fillups are in th 40 to 46 mpg range. I have 2 fillups that were over 50 mpg in mixed driving! A couple have benn in the 38-40mpg range. This is all spring/summer driving however. The increased horsepower engine and the cvt work together to provide excellent real world mileage.
Mitsubishi has basically fixed all the previous complaints about my 2015. The steering is fixed. The brakes are better. The ride is flatter and more composed. The handling is sharp. The upholstery is nicer. THERE IS AN ARMREST FOR THE DRIVER. And the backup camera is standard. The Mirage is now a fine highway Driver at 65-80 mph.
Yes, I love my 2018 Mirage!
