It's a hypermilers worst dilemma.
Get 4.5l/100 and take about 65 hours, or get 7l/100 and take 45hours...
I know I'll end up doing 150kmh through most of the prairies hahaha.

Just remember speed kills more than fuel economy.
Give yourself time for a reasonable amount of driving with appropriate rest periods along the way. Nobody wants a trip to end in tragedy due to a road-weary, anxious driver.
Take some pictures and share them here.

For us guys in the states (like me) who still don't know how to convert km to miles without looking it up...he's taking a 4,000 mile road trip!!! Yikes! Please tell us you have cruise control!

If I'm doing a buck50 trust me, I'll be the slowest guy on the road.
Flying out in 3 weeks to look at properties. Will ship the Jeep and drive the car loaded with 3 pets and half our stuff. Yeehaw.

No cruise. Makes me sleepy on long trips.

That sounds like a nice little adventure. Mind sharing the destination?
Cruise control also improves your reaction time in two ways:
1. Less time spent worrying about speed allows better identification of road conditions
2. The foot can cover the brake instead of the accelerator.

I have 2 feet and know how to drive.
I dont worry about speed. Not staring at the dash like an idiot.
Not like I'm switching between staring at the speedo and the bumper in front of me.
Theres most people, then theres former 600cc track riders and amateur rally drivers and rock crawling people. I'll work three pedals at the same time if I need to.
I dont often care what helps most people.

Rough math. Realistically itll be 90 through BC, 140+ through the prairies, and then honestly I have no idea beyond that. Traffic through Ontario may destroy the timeline.
Through Saskatchewan I'll probably put a brick on the throttle, tape the steering wheel straight and take a 9 hour nap.
