We are all just speculating here but the only "safe answer" is to flush the coolant at once and refill it again. I paid 40$ at the local mechanic to have that done back with my old Saturn. Thats what I would do. Better to spend the forty bucks, assure the safety of your car, and you can get a good night's sleep without the worry of expensive repairs in the future.

Mistakes can happen to anyone, we all make them. But the most important thing is to correct our mistakes immediately as soon as we are aware of them. Good Luck

I have to agree - flush and refill. Last winter when I had my heater core replaced the dealer said someone put some wrong coolant in the reservoir. They said even a little bit of wrong coolant could plug the heater core so I say flush it asap.

Good point, I forgot about all the people having plugged heater cores with these cars.

Wouldn't it be funny if Rain-X kept heater cores from clogging.

We'll let you test Rain-X in your Mirage first, and you can let us know how it goes!

RainX is a wax, that is all. Adding 2 oz of RainX to a gallon of coolant isn't going to hurt anything, but you should be changing your coolant every two years any way.

The real question is, how long have you had your car? If it has been more than two years, it is time to replace your coolant anyway.

Drain that blue Mitsubishi coolant out of your car, fill with distilled water, drive around for a day or so, drain the water, fill again with distilled water, drive again and drain a couple of more times to make sure you have all that blue crap out.

Once your car drains clear water, fill the system back up with some high quality Prestone green coolant.

Changing coolant every two years is a very outdated thing to do. Right up there with changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles.

The type of coolant used in the Mirage is considered a "lifetime" coolant with a MINIMUM replacement interval of 4 years.

    Lifetime coolant, now that's funny.

Since I don't know what I'm talking about just do the opposite of me and you will be fine. My 2014 only has 213,000 miles so obviously I am doing something wrong.
