Android Auto and iPod?

So one of the reasons I went with the higher trim level on my Mirage was for Android Auto.

The problem is, all of my music (when not using the radio), is on my iPod, so I want to be able to play the iPod at the same time as, say, using Google Maps from my phone.

Any Suggestions?

My first thought was to use Bluetooth, but it seems that Android Auto takes over Bluetooth as well as the USB port.

Any thoughts? I've tried using Google Play Music within Android Auto, but it keeps randomly cutting out in the middle of songs.

Does Mitsubishi have somewhere to suggest things like this? (I'd also like to see station descriptions/text on the radio)

I guess I'll have to settle for Google Play Music or CDs
