Exclamation 2015 Mirage needs a new blower motor, but auto shop can't find one.

The A/C has been kind of on the fritz all year, and it finally stopped working over the weekend. The compressor still engages, but no air blows out of the vents. My auto shop (which I trust) determined it needs a new blower motor, but they're having trouble finding one at their usual sources. He said he might need to get one from the dealership for $300.

Has anyone else replaced their blower motor, and found one that worked for cheaper? I found this one on Amazon, which looks like it comes directly from Mitsubishi, for $256.

I can't seem to confirm whether these are the correct part. I called a dealership parts center and confirmed that the part number is 7802A249.

Yes...there are multiple dealers who sell OEM parts on-line at a discount. I rarely buy parts from my own dealer when I need OEM.

Hm - a 2015 with automatic climate controls. Are you sure the problem is the blower motor?

Here's what's been happening. For about a year now, the A/C has been not working intermittently. We'd turn on the car, and the A/C wouldn't start.

However, we eventually figured out that we could get it to engage by opening and slamming the glove compartment. That eventually stopped working. Then, we learned we could get it to engage by opening and "dropping down" the hood. That eventually stopped working, as well. Finally, we learned we could get it to engage by unplugging and plugging in the connection right underneath the blower motor. This worked every time.

We then went through a long stretch (about 3 or 4 months) when the A/C worked fine, with no intermittent stopping. But last Friday, for the first time in a long time, the A/C didn't come on. I tried unplugging and plugging the connection several times to no avail. It hasn't been working at all since then.

Today, my mechanic took some time to diagnose it and determined it was the blower motor that needs to be replaced.
