And now for something completely different, off-road 165s!

While browsing Croooober (Japanese autoparts site), I found that Nankang tires is making off-road 165/65/14! The tire is the FT-9. Apparently they're really for kei trucks. I want someone to lift their Mirage and put these on!

    Rallycross Mirage!

You wouldn't even really need to lift it. Just put stiffer springs and good shocks under it.

It's still top-heavy and has that awful high roll-center, though.
    Simplify and add lightness.

Rallycross is exactly what I was thinking.

I was wondering if anyone still made 14" truck tires! I like the look of the lifted Minis. I've wanted to do a slight lift on my Mirage for more of a rally car look.

I've only seen studdable snow tires (I work in the off-road industry, by the way).

    Cool - an insider!

That's exactly the reference I had inferred - that those would make some fine snow tires. I'm glad you caught on.

So, I'm curious - exactly what do you mean by you work in the off-road industry?

Mechanically, the tread might work for snow, but I doubt the rubber compound would have the same cold weather grip as a true snow tire.
