Bump for ideas on why we have MAF and MAP sensors?

Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

But we've got at least one U.S. owner on the forum now, so hopefully he'll chime in.

We also know there are differences between the western Euro market 3A92 engines and the rest of the world. (Higher compression ratio, for one thing.)
In europe we have 1.2 L 80 hp 11:1 compression

The map is probably tied into the electronic throttle, used to smooth out irregularities in position, like a shock absorber.

MAF would keep better track of outside influences like pressure, temperature and humidity.

    regards

Here is what the Japanese 2017 1.2 78hp engine looks like - MAP. They will only sell 1.2l in Japan from now on. The fuel economy is listed as 24.5km/l probably because their engine will turn off at speed 13km/h

I have seen this option in the ETACS Decoder ..

Could it be possible that the High Power option will alter the AFR giving a richer air-fuel mixture at the expense of higher fuel consumption?

    Downstream of MAF sensor

There is a hose down stream of the MAF sensor on the rubber duct leading to the throttle body. The hose runs to the back side of the engine opposite side of the intake manifold. What is this hose for does anyone know?
