Bought a Kia Niro hybrid as 2nd car - blows my Mirage away

I bought a 2018 Kia Niro Hybrid for our second vehicle, and it blows my mighty Mirage away in every category: comfort, ammenities, economy, price...

Well, considering the msrp for the Niro Hybrid starts at $28k I sure hope so.

Economy? Really? My Space Star is rated for 25km/L, while the Niro is rated for 22.7km/L. (Not surprising, the Niro has almost doubled the weight).
I actually get that 25km/L, sometimes. Does your Niro get 22.7?

Did somebody delete an alternator from a Niro?
    Simplify and add lightness.

Why anyone would want to own a Kia or even spend more than a few thousand dollars for one is beyond me.

"Have you driven a Kia lately?"

I drove a Hyundai Sonata less than a year ago when mom was car shopping. Hyundai and Kia are now the same company. The car was virtually brand new with less than $3,000 miles on it and I wasn't impressed. Sure it had all the bells and whistles, but it just didn't feel like a solid car.

And yet folks are buying them.

Do you consider the Mirage to 'feel' solid?

People will buy anything if it is cheap. I don't consider the Mirage to be a solid car but it serves it's purpose. I purchased it because it has a simple 3 cylinder engine and manual transmission. Its a crappy plastic car, but I trust it far more than any of those hybrids out there. How many hybrids are out there with 217k miles and no real issues? To date I've only had an AC compressor fail and have done routine maintenance such as brakes, tires, and fluids.

Should I ever get in a car accident, my car will be totaled no matter how small the damage is. These cars are worthless but far more reliable than a Kia.

Mitsubishi ain't much, but they have been in the business of manufacturing cheap cars for a few more decades than Kia.
