Yes .. it's coming from the A/C. I have this hose extension put long time ago.

Next spray in any permanent lubricant/sealer you can find, like undercoating, Fluid Film, etc. After this step, fill all cavities with spray foam, the expanding type. Make sure you see it squirt out all openings.
When that sets, trim excess, and paint over it.
The lubricant will prevent rust, the foam will keep water out, and as a bonus feature, will add sound deadening

Have you tried it before? I wonder how this treatment holds up long term.
I first used it 30 years ago on a rusted out Masda wagon, mostly to stop air flow in winter.
And on that dreaded front member on my '93 Metro.
As long as it is not exposed to direct sun for long periods of time it will hold up for years.
Sun will slowly turn the surface to powder, but that takes years.
