That is interesting and my 2014 Mirage same very reliable. I think these cars like a Hyundai Pony before it, is a rust prone sort of vehicle, so I hope the krown rust control works. I live in Ontario near NY state and Michigan so we get bad winters reliably. The car is feels sort of tough even when it's so tiny, and has good albeit unique handling

Every cold or not fully warmed-up engine uses very much more fuel. Your cabin heater on full blast makes it worse. You may consider blocking 80-90% of the grill in winter, that helps a lot and costs practically nothing. There are a few threads to "grill block" here.

DIY cheap removable partial grill block
    DIY Choroplast grill block

With winter tyres mounted, winter handling is comparatively good, as long as you are not plowing through knee high snow.

Sure my Mirage has its limitations... and my Mirage has been stuck a few times in the snow, but knock on wood car has been amazing in the winter, the 5th winter having the car. People have asked me if it's AWD. No. But I feel it has above average handling in all weather conditions.

Tires I run the higher quality Bridgestones, I live in the middle of the Great Lakes region, and you know the weather varies so much in March you can pooch the winters in 2 weeks of unseasonably warm temps so I personally don't like winters. Had Nexen winters on my Ford Escort wagon

Its great to hear you're liking your new Mirage! I agree with the others. They are a great inexpensive reliable car that gets great fuel economy.
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

I just wish the left arm position was a little more comfortable. I am not an overly large person, but I just cannot get my left arm comfortable when I am driving. Time will tell

Or a right arm rest of any kind for that matter. Standard on the Mirage GT 2018 models I believe, looking at the aftermarket options for my '14 base model.

My 2017 Mirage ES (manual) had the center armrest & Bluetooth added when I bought it new. Personally, I feel the center armrest is useless. I would never spend money on it. Even with the front seat all the way back, your elbow isn't anywhere near the armrest when your right hand is on the steering wheel. It's short and storage area inside is pretty small.

I don't feel like my arm is ever on it, which is very unlike any armrest I have had in other vehicles. I like my Mirage, but the optional armrest is lame.

I feel like the on-chair armrest has got to be more useless, though, I wish I had gotten the center console instead.

The Yaris armrest fits nice and is like $39 shipped. It sits forward more and has nice storage. There's a little nub you need to cut off in cup holder location on the arm rest but after that it's worked great for almost 40k.

I'll keep that in mind, perhaps that aftermarket fits the bill for a good, usable right arm rest for longer trips.
I had no idea the OEM arm rest was in an awkward position.

I like my Mirage too, but the seating position, mirrors etc. are sometimes somewhat awkward for me to find that "ideal" spot for all of them
