Fuel map cold start recall (does it actually help anything?)

I wonder if it actually helped anything? Does anyone have a high mileage engine that didn't get the recall done? (Bet Fummins would know
    Thanks, just curious.

I can't see why anyone would have purposely skipped the recall.

The recall notice says the over-rich condition can potentially cause engine knock and wear/damage. (Not to mention increased fuel consumption.)

No, and I agree. I just wondered if there were cars that had 100 or more thousand miles before the recall was sent out, if those engines were damaged? I think Rkt Ship had +/- 160k on his when he swapped the motor. Again, just out of curiosity since, for example, someone like Loren who bought a used engine, how would they know if the donor vehicle had the reflash and if the engine had (maybe not noticeable) damage?
Or, was this in reality a recall for emissions or fuel mpg?

Wasn't the problem mostly related to REALLY cold starts? Like sub-zero temperatures?
    Simplify and add lightness.

Yeah, I have 170k miles on mine and haven't got the recall done yet. The car starts poorly in the cold (really cold, -20F or colder). But I garage it most days, and/or use the block heater, so it doesn't bother often. 8+ hours in the parking lot at work without starting it can be a little rough at times.

Create an account with Mitsubishi online as an owner. Once you enter your VIN, you will be able to see what recalls have been done and which need to be done on your Mirage.

Oh my god... I haven't done this and have somehow missed the letter? This is probably the issue that I've been having for years!
