Grille block on the newer Mirages. Can't find a write up.

Anybody done one yet? The grille is in a completely different location, and with the raised diamond plate style grill doing a smooth cover won't be easy. Lower grille is similar but, not the upper.

Did I miss the write up, or will I be doing one up for everybody else.

    Just curious. Thanks!

I don't think I've seen a write up for an upper grill block for the face lifted Mirage.
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

Alright. Yeah it's about 80% of the rad up top and just a sliver with the 5spd (lower more open for CVT) for the lower slot.

I'll do one up then. Driving cross country in 3 weeks. Heater wont have a hope in hell haha.

We just got about a foot of snow over the weekend so half our cars now have a lower grille block made of snow from driving across the parking lot.

I'm going to try this and monitor my temp with an obd wifi dongle to see if i need to remove any of them.

Following...if it warms up, I might lead, but I want to do something. I don't have the technology to test temps, though, which makes me nervous about being the first...or if I do have it, I both don't know and don't know how to use it. I was thinking about pipe insulation for the lower grill...doesn't look too bad. I couldn't live with the look of the upper one filled with pipe insulation, though. Could be funny, as I am a drafter at a place that makes pipe connectors. I'm thinking more about shapes for coroplast...for the lower, do I want to do 2 little ones for the divided center, one big one for the divided center, or one big and long one that covers the fake fog lights? Do I want to cut out and show off the triple diamond on the upper grill? I'd kinda like to de-chrome the whole front. Honestly, I like the front of the pre-facelift better...

You will only have issues with coolant temps on the highway, or during summer times. I have my entire front grill blocked off, upper and lower, and just put a big hood gap gasket in place. So, it is quite literally 100% blocked off. I have absolutely no issues with overheating in winter. I will be running the same setup, minus the mail slot being unblocked for summer. I did this last year, and had no issues.

Worst case, your radiator fan turns on. Its not going to do damage to the engine unless you burn up the radiator fan from overuse.
