Mirage now cheapest car to BUY in Australia

We already knew that the Mirage was cheap to own (Mirage is cheapest new car to own/run in Australia (RACV/RACQ/NRMA)

And now it's also the cheapest to buy (due to special Mitsu pricing) that ties it with the Suzuki Alto.

Previously, the Chinese Chery J1 was the purchase price champion (at around $10k driveaway), but sales of that car had to cease owing to failure to meet new regulations on safety equipment:

It coincides with last week’s demise of the Chery J1 hatchback, which was forced out of the market due to the unavailability of electronic stability contol (ESC) that became mandatory on all new cars as of November 1 federal legislation.
I'd say it's probably a safe bet that Chery will sort out the stability control issue so they can resume sales.
