    Air/cabin filter

    Hey all,

I couldn’t find any posts when I searched for air filter/cabin filters...

Where does everyone buy theirs? At least around me they’re charging 30-$70 for the cabin filter..... for such a small thing. Anyone know of a replica fit for a different car that could be cheaper?

I think this is where I bought my last one (I've only changed it once)...

I take mine out and wash it, spray on a little fabreez. I'm not allergy-prone, though.

Better watch that US Flag-Ontario combo in your bio, might start a fight!

If you have a NAPA auto parts dealer nearby you can have them order this:

    ALT 3600527

NAPA Canada lists the cost as $14.09

I ordered one from rockauto.com. I did engine/cabin filters for both of my vehicles @ same time. Save a little on shipping. They have 5 choices today that range from $5.28 to $15.50 for a Mirage cabin air filter.

I previous used the AC filter. I actually found that it's maybe too effective. It was restricting air flow at higher fan speeds.

I used this one last time: https://www.ebay.com/itm/292459418447

And I dont recommend it. It was very thin and flimsy compared to the OEM one and also it did not have rigid border supports so it could cave in like an accordion when you squeezed the edges so I had to use a fork to expand it back out once it was installed. Sometimes you "get what you pay for" and when trying to save $3 or $5 its a false economy to buy low-grade junk.

Like buying an orange Fram oil filter to save $3 is a bad decision. Has anyone tried that cheapo Bi-Trust one? Its now 5.99 on amazon. THere is an Eco-Guard brand also on AMazon but has some bad reviews.

I am probably going to choose the GKI one. I set it to subscribe and save so I can still change my mind in the next few days and cancel the order if I find something better. My a/c vents started to small foul about a month ago. I sprayed an a/c chemical into the outside intake under the windshield wiper (passenger side) that is designed to kill the bacteria responsible for the STANK and it worked to cure the nasty odor. I think plain old Lysol would do the same job.

Do any premium filters that include carbon fit our Mirage?
